Picnic tables for schools, offices and campgrounds
More and more of my picnic table work is commercial: dentist offices putting seating out front, schools that need tables for outdoor lunch, campgrounds and churches replacing tables that finally gave out.
Commercial tables are a different build. Here's what changes.
Heavier everything
A backyard table gets used by one family. A school table gets climbed on, sat on backwards, and left out year-round. I go up in stock thickness, add a center support, and use hardware that can be re-tightened rather than glue-only joints.
Finishes that take abuse
For commercial work I lean toward finishes that can be spot-repaired on site rather than ones that need a full strip. A table that can be touched up in an afternoon stays in service.
Multiples and matching
If you need six tables, I build them as a run so the proportions and color match. Pricing gets better per unit as the quantity goes up — the setup is the expensive part.
Lead times
Spring is busy. If you want tables in place before the school year or before summer programming starts, reach out a couple of months ahead and I'll get you on the schedule.
Need a quote for multiples? Send me the quantity, the site, and your timeline and I'll come back with a real number.
